The Day School of Astoria proudly offers the NYC Department of Education Pre-K for All program, providing children with a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment as they prepare for kindergarten and beyond.
Our Pre-K program uses The Creative Curriculum® and Kickstart Literacy to support children’s growth across all areas of development. Through hands-on exploration, purposeful play, meaningful interactions, and literacy-rich experiences, children build foundational skills in language and communication, early literacy and mathematics, social-emotional development, problem-solving, and independence.
Children’s learning and development are guided by the NYC DOE Pre-K Learning Standards and are also aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF). This comprehensive approach allows our teachers to intentionally support each child’s individual development while creating a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
